Ron Paul = The Truth

Though the media has pretty much ignored him, the internet is going crazy over him. I never realized how libertarian the internet is, but now, I'm proud to consider myself part of this growing movement for Ron Paul becoming our next president. A strongly principled libertarian who has never voted to raise taxes and has been one of the few Republicans to be against the Iraq War from the very beginning, Ron Paul seems like he should be getting much more media attention. But for some reason (probably his anti-internet regulation stance), the Internet has taken up Ron Paul as it's candidate. I never thought I could support a Republican candidate for president, since the party hasn't abided by its libertarian ideals since Barry Goldwater. But hey, politics makes strange bedfellows.
Ron Paul is an interesting paradox. (Which he actually shouldn't be) He's a revolutionary conservative. Revolutionary because he's a "conservative" who is non-interventionist, against internet regulation, anti-drug war, anti-Iraq War and he even wants to abolish income tax and the IRS. But any political junkie will let you know that Ron Paul's small government ideology is the true traditional conservative position. It was Thomas Jefferson's, Thomas Paine's, and most of the Founding Fathers' position. Sadly though, Ron Paul doesn't take a strong pro-gay marriage or pro-choice stance. He passes those decisions on whether to legalize or ban abortion and gay marriage to the states. I'd much rather he say straight up that any law made banning abortion or gay marriage is counterproductive towards establishing true freedom in America.
Also, some racist remarks that Ron Paul allegedly made in the 90's have come out. But thankfully, Ron Paul has stated that he actually did not write the remarks and that they were simply part of a newsletter which bore his name. He states,
They were never my words, but I had some moral responsibility for them...I actually really wanted to try to explain that it doesn't come from me directly, but they [campaign aides] said that's too confusing. 'It appeared in your letter and your name was on that letter and therefore you have to live with it.
Good shit... cause the alleged remarks are hilarious yet clearly offensive. And the allegedly anti-Semitic remarks made by Ron Paul are simply criticisms of the Israeli lobby's power in Washington. Ron Paul clearly elaborates on his website his view of racism as an ugly form of collectivism. (Which it precisely is!) So I don't think Ron Paul is a racist. Just political spin and name calling from certain media outlets.
So ASH THA GOD is officially pushing for Ron Paul as our next Commander In Chief. But I'm not exactly sure if the Republican party's base will vote for him as the nomination. Hopefully though, the Republican party will come to its senses and return back to its former ideals of small government and freedom for the individual! If not... Go Barack Obama!! PEACE!!
